Black and White Style With Keds

Everyone should know by now how much I love Keds. Real talk, it's because you can basically wear them with any and everything {further proof, here}. Want to wear them with jeans? Easy, just throw on a tee and you're ready to go. Want to dress them up? Simple, all you need is a midi skirt and cropped top or a flirty spring dress. The pairings are endless and you never have to worry about sacrificing style for comfort. They have you covered on both accounts. They're an instant classic that everyone from your grandma to your peers know about without having to resort to a quick google search. I mean, they're over 100 years old, they had better be well-known.

So, when Keds asked me how I define my own path with the famous footwear brand, I said EASY! Their endless designs alone give me an enormous boost of creativity when it comes to styling options. But it's not just about the fashion, right? Whether it's exploring fun and unique spots in the city (in my case wandering into Dumbo for this photoshoot -I love this wall!) or snapping off pictures of the other loves of my life: food and home decor; they're along for the ride. And I never have to worry about blisters, foot ache or discomfort an hour down the road. It's a huge deal for me, especially now that this enormous bump demands comfort. The struggle is very much real at this point in the game. If someone asks me if Keds inspires me, the answer is yes, absolutely. Their ability to take a classic shape/style and make it new and fun each season is reason enough to be inspired by the iconic brand. I mean, look at these. The classic lace up sneakers that we've seen on everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Audrey Hepburn, toughened up with black leather and a smidge of glamour (the glossy patent details are almost too perfect). At the very least, they've achieved closet staple status in my case.

As for how I wore the 'Kickstart Retro Court Sneaker', I kept it simple with another closet staple, the white tee shirt, with a slip dress thrown over it, topped with a leather jacket. I picked the blue background as a nod to the iconic little blue logo on the shoes. Classic black and white with a twist for a classic shoe with a modern take.

Need a new pair of Keds? Zappos has the hook up with super fast shipping and 365 day returns. Their customer service is #1 in my book so you never have to worry about suffering a style or size miscalculation due to online shopping. It's no secret that I shop with them on a regular basis and could probably say they're my favorite e-commerce site for all the above reasons.
