4 Ways To Wear Slip On Sneakers

21 March 2016

Spring isn't just reserved for sandals, it's also the perfect time to break out the more practical and dare I say, stylish shoe, sneakers. Athleisure anyone? I personally favor slip-on styles. They're effortless, pair with anything from dresses to denim, and are absurdly comfortable. So, while doing a little shopping on Zappos.com I couldn't help but get a little inspired by the Keds selection - hello metallics, color and texture. Aside from being a global household name {one that I've know since I was a kid, my grandma literally owned a closet full}, they make a pretty amazing shoe. Hello, wear all day every day. You know they're doing something right when they have been outfitting style stars like Marilyn Monroe, Jackie O. and Audrey Hepburn for a 100 years in their iconic kicks.

Which is why, in honor of breaking out the spring footwear I teamed up with my friends at Zappos.com to share 4 simple, yet stylish ways to wear my favorite Keds slip-on styles, the Champion-Leather Slip On and the Triple Decker in Exotic Shimmer. {Both well under $100.}

How do you wear your slip-on sneakers?

1.  Boyfriend Jeans & A Trench
I haven't quite given up on layers just yet so throwing on a trench with my boyfriend jeans on cooler days seems to always be a win. I especially love it paired with the metallic pop from the Triple Decker in Exotic Shimmer - perfect weekend casual look.

2. Dressing Down A Skirt or Dress
Dressing down a flirty midi skirt or dress with a white sneaker is an instant classic. Ladies have been doing it for what seems like forever and it just seems to work. Make it modern by adding a pop of color  or print and edgy details like a moto jacket.

3. Overalls
Still not on the overalls bandwagon? Get on it. If not just to wear them {with the athleisure trend this season,} with these sneakers. Add a modern touch to the 'school age' classic and throw them on with a  white tee, leather jacket, and bold shades. Don't forget the pop of color. {More ways to wear overalls here, here & here.}

A little sporty, a little grunge. This 90's inspired style is perfect for festival season, brunch and even a day of shopping. No blisters here. Extra points for added shirt around the the waist...
