Fashion Week Style: Inspired By The Mazda CX-5

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Autotrader; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
One of my favorite things about fashion and personal style is that you can draw inspiration from just about anything. Love the look of a new skyscraper or the deep red hue of the leaves on the tree in autumn? Boom, outfit inspiration that quickly translates to fall colors in a new dress or sky high silver platforms. It's that easy and can be done with just about everything....

So, when Autotrader asked me create an outfit for Fashion Week inspired by the 2017 Mazda CX-5 I was immediately up to the task. Who doesn't love the playful, sporty shape of the little SUV that packs a major style punch when it comes to the exterior. Nothing about stepping out of this car says hey! I'm a mom of three. It screams she has style and knows what she likes, right? Or at least I think so. It doesn't hurt that the interior is just as good as the exterior, especially with 10 Bose speakers on the premium audio system and a traffic sign recognition system. So as I cruise on by with the windows down blasting Michael Jackson with oversized cat eyes, feel free to wave or hitch a ride. Car-eoke it will be. Cleary 2017 is the year for this spicy SUV, it's fully re-designed with major upgrades to the interior and a smoother quieter ride. We're talking LED headlights, a rearview camera for the dreaded city-parking and a 7-inch touch screen with Mazda Connect.  The seat memory function doesn't hurt one bit either, since the two heights in this house hold are pretty extreme (I'm the super short one!).

Enough about the whip, let's talk about the outfit it inspired. Since in my opinion everything looks better in color I was most inspired by the Soul Red hue paired with the 17-inch alloy wheels so I let my fiery locks and a punchy pink pop of color on the lips take the reigns, next to a bold star-print, black and white, wrap dress with black and silver accessories. Nothing says 'sleek' better than silver trim. I mean these retro booties with the grommet details alone are 100% channeling those wheels and all of the mechanical fixings. I wanted all of the curves of my look to match up to the unique curves on the Mazda CX-5, from the round handled bag inspired by the Mazda logo to the starlike design on the wheels to match the print on my little wrap dress. I personally think I did a pretty good job bringing the car to fashion-life. It's fun, playful and not too serious. All things fashion accessories should be. What do you think?
