When it comes to my daily life, organization is key. I know I’ve expressed it on more than one occasion, and especially through all the chaos I still try to keep things somewhat on schedule. Especially when it comes to New York Fashion Week. All of the running back and forth trying to make it to a show on time or the pressure of capturing the perfect picture of the model walking down the runway {trust me, it took me a whole season of blurry pictures to finally get it down}, it gets crazy.

So, this season I’m teaming up with smartwater to share how I get inspired and how I keep things organized during Fashion Week.

Fashion Week is definitely one of my favorite times of year, especially in the inspiration department. Whether it’s watching the newest looks coming down the runway, a new way to wear your makeup or finding more ways to style some of my favorite pieces, courtesy of the street style stars - there’s no shortage of fresh looks. There’s just something about seeing it in person and how everything flows together rather than flipping through a magazine. I’m personally looking forward to all of the bohemian and 70’s inspired attire on the streets; if there’s one thing I love it’s definitely channeling the 60’s and 70’s in my style.

As far as making it through the week is concerned, the first thing I do is make a schedule. I use my electronic calendar to organize my entire fashion week schedule down to the minute I have to leave for the next show to avoid being late. Guys, the struggle is real and you can never account for the shows running late, especially this season with the new venues. So, I do my best and try not to get too worked up when things don’t go exactly as planned, because they won’t.

Of course, I have to find time for myself away from it all, otherwise I get burned out by day 3.  So I take an hour or so to relax, breathe, and hydrate- a valuable reboot to keep myself in the game. Obviously, smartwater and a bag of almonds are my accessories of choice here.

And finally, I’ve learned to keep it loose. Yes, staying professional is key among the sea of craziness, but taking things too seriously is just asking for trouble. So, I make sure I have a good time.

Where do you get your fashion inspiration and stay inspired with your everyday habits?
