Burlington Style Essentials: Cropped Top & Midi Skirt

I don't know about you but I can barely believe it's August already. Seriously, where did the summer go? Truth be told, I'm definitely looking forward to cooler temps in the coming months, I'm not entirely ready to part with some of my favorite summer trends. Thankfully, most of which will be following me into the fall months. Hooray!

So, for this month's Burlington Style Squad post I went shopping with back to school and fall trends in mind. Whether you're gearing up for college or just ready to hit the streets in your favorite layers, I have you covered this month. First off, I found the offerings in-stores this month were so much better than last {truth: they were pretty awesome last month}. I even spent a good part of the afternoon in the fitting room trying on everything from cropped tops and chambray button downs to overalls and outerwear.

In the end I found myself most enamored with this window pane chiffon midi skirt {$14.99} and black cropped top {$9.98. Additionally, I just bought this amazing one in black and white for under $10, obsessed!}. Obviously, both pieces can be worn a number of ways together or separate. I even found that the skirt {because of the elastic back} can be pulled up and styled as a dress. Dress it up for girls night out with heels or down for class {or errands} with white sneakers. Top it off with a denim or motorcycle as the temperatures start to drop and voila! $25 well spent.

Not near a store? Check out Burlington's online selection, and get free shipping on order over $50 + free in-store returns. Shopping in-store? From now and until August 16th shoppers can donate $1 or more to a classroom near you in need with DonorsChoose.org.
