5 Ways To Wear Sparkle Bloggers Edition

It's the holidays so we all love adding a little extra sparkle to our ensemble, whether it's subtle or show stopping we're all guilty of it. And of course, I've worn my fair share of sparkle here on the blog, from sequins to glitter it's been done. So Naturally it would be about time to bring it into the 5WTW circle, and what better way to bring in a little shimmer than to bring in some of my shimmer wearing blogging pals for another 5WTW Blogger's Edition. Don't forget to go check out these ladies, follow'm too!

When C&C California sent this sweater (with these leggings) I wasn't quite sure how to style it, I knew since it's 'coating' somewhat resembled metallic and leather so of course the best way to play with the edge is classically speaking pieces and since I'm obsessed with bringing out my old pencil skirts to play I couldn't resist this pairing.

Just A Touch Of Oxblood

While staring that this dress in my closest it occurred to me that one of the bold hues in the print just so happened to match my newish-ly found hat to the tee. Of course one cannot resist matching up the two and pairing with a pair of boots for a little bit of a bohemian feel.

Layering With Leather(ette)

It's funny how something you've been searching for can be right under your nose, I've been looking for leather (and vegan leather) pants for quite some time now and I've had to return numerous pairs because they just don't seem to fit. Finally I took a tip from a girlfriend and dropped into Target and tried on a pair of their faux leather pants and immediately fell in love, my only complaint is that they stretch after wearing for a couple hours, but I'm sure they'll go back after washing.

How perfect are they with this skull scarf and blazer?

Best Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

For the past week I've been shoving my face with my grandmother's famous oatmeal cookies, I don't know what it is about the crunchy, yet melt in your mouth texture paired with heavy oats and nuts topped off with delicious chocolate chips but it just does it for me. So much so that the 3+ dozen she made before we came is down to single digits...Oops. Of course this kind of addiction needs to be shared, am I right? Plus it's super quick, and easy.

Best Oatmeal Cookies Ever Recipe - Yields 3 Doz.
1 C Chocolate Chips
1 C (Finely) Chopped Walnuts
1 C Light Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1 C Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/3 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Maple Extract
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
3 C Rolled Oats (Not Quick Oats)
3/4 C Butter, Softened

In Medium to Large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until creamy, Add egg and vanilla and mix until combined and smooth. In Separate bowl mix together baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and flour.

Combine the flour and creamed mixture together, add chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.

With A Tablespoon drop the batter onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 11 minutes or until golden brown. Make 3 Dozen Medium/Large Cookies. Store in airtight container. Enjoy.

This Week..

As the week wraps up I couldn't feel more blessed from spending the holiday with my parents and my grandparents this year, It's been a blast watching the boys entertain my grandparents, and get pops of energy every time my parents stopped by especially when Evan mimics everything my dad does, they're like twins. I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday and if you're not in the states, a great week and indulged in some hot cocoa...
Warming our shoes, of course I'm the most impractical, as per usual...
Can someone get me this freaking sweater in my size, I need it.
Thanksgiving Moon.
Steal from the bargain bin at the local thrift store marked at $8, she ended up giving it to me for free because it wasn't 'clean' inside...A free Hermes is a happy Megan. I also snagged a red coat for under $20. Black Friday success...
