Good Taste, Great Style for Fall 2012

I've mentioned on more than one occasion that the Fall to Winter season is by far my favorite, when August hits every year I can't wait to purge my closet of summer essentials and revamp my wardrobe with heavy knits, tights and hats. I love the chill in the air paired with the necessary layering of blazers, sweaters and coats. And since so much inspiration comes to mind over these few months, it only seemed fitting to team up with Yoplait to share my favorite trends for Fall and Winter 2012.  What inspires your Style this season?

Whether you're a lover of the real deal or preferring a more 'vegan' alternative, Leather is one of those must haves for your fall wardrobe. Playing with styles and colors, makes this texture so much fun for the season, whether you're opting for a fitted pencil or a hip skater style, skirts are one of the easiest ways to pull of the leather look without grabbing your traditional leather jacket. Not a lover of skirts, try  finding your fit in pants or even shorts paired with tights. If you're really feeling bold, style it in with other trends like opting for a leather peplum top, or even a deep oxblood hued shift
Bringing back the exaggerated and dramatic lines, prints, textures from the 1600's artistic period is a natural fit for Fall and Winter's trendsetting, whether you're incorporating rich gold hues or mirrored prints in the form of tops, bags and dressed,  you're bound to be spot on and statement making. Reach brocade embroidered jackets and shorts and pair them with deep colors like oxblood & black. Not loving the clothing? Take a stab at the trend with accessories like a clutch or statement earrings mirroring the dramatic period that housed some of the greatest creatives.
Think mod geometric prints on cigarette pants paired with exaggerated takes on houndstooth, leopard or even tribal. Go for eye popping colors, and already print mixed styles, when it comes to this season's print party, more is more. Still shy? Play with our ever favorite print leopard and style it with classic black and white or step outside the box and try it with a flashy blazer.
Who needs sequins when you have it's flashier sister, Metallics? Jump in head first on the midas and friends inspired trend with coated denim, eye catching separates like disco inspired minis or even metal infused tweeds like fitted blazers and shifts. Scared to go head to toe? Try testing the waters with a touch of metal in cap toe pumps, clutches, or satchels. Go glam in your beauty routine by adding metallic shimmer to your eyes and nails. Don't forget to have fun with this one...

What trend inspired your taste and style?
Yoplait® Original is proof that classic is always a good choice. What can be more than SO good? The fact that Yoplait® Light is made in more than 20 flavors that contain 90 calories and 2 Weight Watchers® PointsPlus® value each.  But the best part is the inspiration these fun flavors can be when it comes to fashion – how about a Key Lime Pie clutch or a little black forest cake dress. We believe the best fashion statements come from flavor inspiration.  What flavor inspires you? Try a new one today and use it to plan your outfit tomorrow.

Happy Halloween

I've already expressed my love for Halloween, so of course the only natural idea would be to show off our DIY'd costumes from last weekend's costume party. Being that it is the first of our now annual get together, it obviously needed to be tweaked especially with the whole still making my costume as guests were arriving, glue gun and all...Maybe next year I wont be so last minute. Smhh, who am I kidding, I'll probably be worse.

And since I've got a thing for themes, this year we decided to take a trip to the Circus...
Our "Strong Man", wasn't loving his Mustache so it got smeared 5 minutes in, tonight I'm thinking he needs a legit handle bar, am I right?
And The Trapeze, er, "Spider Man" stripped down to his diaper 1/2 through the party...hence the lack of photos of his costume...Good times.
And No Circus is Complete without Clowns...
And A Lost Instagram...

Load Up Layers

With the current weather condition it's given me the opportunity to load up on layering essentials like tees, chambray and blazers - so naturally the only intelligent choice would be to pair them together and give them a little pop of color... Right?

Finally Some Chill

I don't know whether it's from the storm or possibly Florida is finally coming to it's senses and giving me some feelings of Fall, and though it was only wind and dropped temperatures it made me feel "just at home", and warm. It also gave me a chance to play with my new topper that I snagged at Target for under $15 - bordeaux, wool and wide brimmed, yes please. Of course it went perfectly with my leopard maxi that was shockingly in need of some extra layering, oh please, oh please stay cold.

5 Quick, and Easy Costumes from Your Closet

Halloween just happens to be one of my favorite holidays, I love playing dress up and getting creative with ideas and costumes (I think it has to do with the whole being a costume designer thing, but I think everyone like dressing up...right?). And since I'm such a last minute lucy about costume ideas I always find myself looking for inspiration in places I look everyday, like my closet. So with the holiday creeping up on us, it brings in to question what on earth to wear and how much to spend, time and/or money wise. Now, If you're not in a mood to drop a huge budget on the festivities this year you might find yourself standing in your closet looking for inspiration for a quick and easy costume..

And since last year I gave you 10 ideas (check'm out!) to find from your very own closet, I thought to make this week's 5WTW another guide to inspiration for picking a costume from your closet... Which would you choose?

Bloglovin Blog HOP!

What's Bloglovin' you ask? Well, only the greatest way to keep track of the blogs that you love. With the discontinuation of Google Friends Connect (GFC) for non-blogger blogs, I decided that I needed to find another way to keep up with all of my favorite blogs that are not hosted by blogger. I stumbled upon Bloglovin' and I am in love! It is very similar to Google Reader, in that you can see the beginning of the post and the first picture attached to the post. Plus, Bloglovin' automatically updates your posts. Another added bonus is there is a Bloglovin' application for IPhone and Android devices. Woohoo! Like I don't spend enough time reading blogs. Now it's a simple touch. Love it!

In order to participate in this hop, you need to have Bloglovin set up for your blog. You can find a super easy tutorial here. I promise it'll take you less than 10 minutes and you'll thank me down the road.

There’s only a couple of rules:
1. Please follow your hosts! They are the 1st seven blogs linked.
2. You MUST link up your Bloglovin' url to participate, NOT your blog.
3. Post our button for the blog hop on your page to promote the fun or share about the hop through Twitter or Facebook would be greatly appreciated.
If you're interested in co-hosting next month, you can find info here and then shoot me an email at russej10{at}gmail{dot}com if you're interested.  Please remember to ONLY link up your Bloglovin URL.
