Roped Ruffles

16 May 2011

It would seem I'm in a bit of a predicament again with one of my purchases and I need a bit of advice from my trusty readership. I snagged this lovely blue Tucker for Target dress the other day for under $10, the only issue is it's a size large, 90% of the time I'd say I absolutely can make it work (and you've seen me do it here & here with this size 12 French Connection dress). But since I'm still shedding my baby weight I'm on the fence about the dress. I first tried it on with a skinny belt and loved it, but made the mistake of asking my husband what he thought and now I'm having second thoughts.

What do you think Return or Keep?

think it looks super cute but if you don't think you'll wear it again after this... return! there's plenty of other great sales out there.

MAN! Tough call! For $10, you hate to return it because it's such steal. I think it works, but looks a bit too large around the chest area.

Definitely looks too big so once you shed the rest of the weight it may sit in the back of the closet. I say take it back and let someone who is that size bask in the gloriousness of the dress....and the price :).

I can see your predicament. For $10 I'd keep just about anything, but I can also see what your hubby's talking about. It's a bit large on top (that ruffle makes it look even bigger in the shoulders), and I fear that once the baby weight is gone, it'll be gi-normous. But jeez, $10? Can it be tailored? Hmmm...

Can you take it in? (tailor it yourself) If so, keep it. If not, take it back, or give it to a friend who will fit into it...

I think it looks great! I wouldn't have thought it was so big. But if you don't feel confident in it now you never will and you probably won't wear it much. It was a pretty good though!

I would only return it if I couldn't alter it myself or if it cost you more than the dress to alter. The color looks pretty on you!

not my favorite, you have far more fabulous dresses :)

Love the navy, but if it's too big now it will only be bigger the more baby weight you lose. It looks like you've already lost most of it!

It looks a bit big on top. The ruffle detailing is lovely, but it adds to the bulk of the over-sized fit. It's only $10 sure, but I would likely return it unless you plan to have it altered. I LOVE the color though. It looks amazing with that belt.

Loooove the dress and the idea of it, but I think it's too big for you! You are itty bitty, lady!
