Spring Essential: Flatform Sandals

Now that the weather is changing for the better it's time to bring out the more Spring friendly footwear. Who's ready for sandals? Me! Which is why Payless and I are bringing you 3 posts to share my picks from the current selection in stores and online. First up, Flatforms. Ok, here me out on these - I was slightly nervous when I first unboxed them but I immediately got over my reservations and fell in love after trying them on. They're actually super comfortable and flattering {which this petite girl needs when it comes to footwear, no stumpy legs here}.  I also can't help but love that they're not exactly flats but they're not quite heels either. I'm a towering 2" taller. Plus, the nude tone makes the perfect addition to everyone's spring wardrobe. You can never have enough nude sandals. We all know this...

While I'm currently wearing mine with this gorgeous maxi dress, flatform pairings aren't limited to flowing, bohemian styles. I'm also kind of obsessed with them thrown on with boyfriend jeans and a relaxed tee or a flirty romper, I might just try them with my new culotte romper. And don't fool yourself into thinking that they are just for the streets, I forsee them being a pretty amazing footwear choice for festival season and spring break- just saying. I'm going to go ahead and apologize ahead of time, you're going to be seeing these sandals on repeat over the the next couple of months.

Psst. It's BOGO 50% Off time at Payless, so stock up. Next week, we're lacing up and no, I'm not sporting sneakers - stay tuned.

This post has been brought to you by Payless. As always, all opinions are my own.

Cardigans and Overalls

Ok, I'm pretty sure I took these pictures a few weeks ago but it doesn't make this get up any less valid now than it was then, especially with all this rain. #springshowers. Turns out my Sorel's are making their way from fall to spring, and they are proving themselves useful. Take that puddles. As for the cardigan and overall style happening, I don't know guys, I kind of love it. Buying more now...

Banana Republic Seersucker Dress

When it comes to my essentials for Spring, I always look for something with a decent amount of color, prints, and/or texture. After all, this is the season you want your look to pop after those insanely difficult cold and dark winter months, right? I am glad we agree. So you can understand why I was pretty excited when Banana Republic sent over this Seersucker Layered Dress. I don't know how they knew it but I kind of have a tiny little obsession with all things seersucker -  the fact that I have a short suit from 10+ years ago that I will probably have for another ten, should sufficiently communicate my love for the airy, textured stripes.

But back to the subject at hand, this dress is easily a spring and summer staple, thanks to its light texture and neutral pair-with-anything stripe. I love that they can be spiced up with pops of color and even with a little print-mixing, such as the addition of a floral print for example.  I personally will opt to toughen my dress up with a touch of leather and a fabulous heel since I'm still transitioning my fall/winter style to spring. I'm half way there- I'm in sandals. But I foresee throwing this on with a denim jacket and bright heels when things start looking {and feeling} more like spring.

Until then I'll throw it on with my trusty leather jacket, black crossbody and strappy sandals for a quick lunch meeting in the city, followed up with a healthy shopping jaunt {but not without first switching out my heels for white converse. Which, by the way, pair just as effortlessly with the look as the heels.}

Flowers and Fringe

I don't know what I love more here, the gorgeous hair courtesy of Amika or this skirt set from, wait for it, TARGET. Ok, I'm obsessed with both. They're equally amazing and different at the same time, one channels the hair from DVF's amazing spring 16 runway and the other makes an incredible spring wardrobe addition, for less. I wore the top and skirt together, but I have a feeling they're going to be just as fabulous as separates. Now, I only gave you knee up shots because we ran upstairs to shoot the hair before the sun went down and I was most definitely barefoot - reshoots didn't happen because we all came down with a pretty wicked stomach flu a few house later. It knocked us on our asses until last night - and even then I'm still not 100%. So, I owe you shoe options - until then, this fabulous hair and set will have to keep you company. Note to self: White outfit on white background; not the ideal choice.

6 Ways To Wear Pastels for Spring

With Easter over the weekend we decided this week's #styled6ways would be best suited in pastels. I personally couldn't wait to get this chicwish floral dress on - I can get enough of these colors and the texture. Hello, spring perfection. It has turned out to be one of those pieces you can just throw on with the right shoe and bag and voila, the perfect Easter outfit.

Last week I had the opportunity to spend the morning at O Magazine and talk trends with Adam Glassman and JCPenney over breakfast. While I'm 100% for all things bohemian and retro I couldn't help but feel inspired by some of the other notable styles that are hitting stores now. I'm definitely saying yes please to 'cold shoulder' tops, stripes and all things embellished. Also, now is the time to embrace the colors of the rainbow - start small with accessories and build up to tops, dresses and pants.

So, with a little help from JCPenney, I headed to breakfast adorned in a couple of spring pieces from the Herald Square store - one being this adorable embellished top from Belle + Sky {$25}. Originally I planned to wear the top with these denim culottes but had a last minute change of heart and opted for my windowpane midi skirt, a leather jacket and scarf. I finished with a Sole Society bag and these absurdly comfortable ankle strap heels, also in available in nude.

4 Spring Beauty Products To Try

6 years of blogging about fashion has grown in me, a greater appreciation and more refined taste for, all things beauty related {Don't even get me started on my love for home decor and travel}. Whether it's my obsession with creating the perfect cat-lined eyes or going 'adult', starting a real skincare routine, and everything in between. There really are so many great beauty products out there today, my ever-growing beauty closet is always at capacity. And just in time for the changing of the seasons, I've got 4  new{ish} products that I'm simply obsessed with and can't put down. Check them out.

The finish on this setting powder is amazing. Hello, flawless selfie ready skin! Plus the hue is universal so it works on all skin tones (and textures).

I've been using these sprays since they launched last year and I refuse to go back to stick deodorant. Their latest is lavender scented and it is heavenly.

Hands down one of my favorite beauty products. I personally have a hydration problem when it comes to my skin and while I love other hydroluronic products, they just never seem to last for more than an hour or two. A spritz or two of this before applying make up for all day hydration - obsessed.

Dare I say, one of the best concealers out there. It brightens and blends beautifully without settling into my 'lines'. A little bit goes a long way and lasts all day. Amazing paired with the LG Filter Finish Powder.

Since it's officially leg weather I have no problem ditching the boots for something a little 'shorter', like these side zip booties. I kind of love them with my faux suede dungaree dress and 'hair matching' turtleneck.
