Golden {Summer} Cat Eye

When it comes to summer beauty, less is more. Sure, I love walking out with a fully made up face but for some reason in the summer it just seems like overkill; maybe it’s just me. I’m not saying going bare faced is always key but I tend to only pick one area and really highlight it. Which is why for this month’s Target beauty post (See last month’s 5-minute post workout makeover here) it’s all about adding a touch of shimmer to your summer beauty routine.

Now, while I don’t want to go full on studio54 with the glitter and all-over sparkle, it doesn’t mean a girl doesn’t love some shimmer in her makeup routine. I personally favor it in the eye department with a slick, cat-lined eye. I wanted to create something that will work day or night, whether you’re looking for a night on the town or a brunch/shopping outing with your friends on the weekend. It also had to be simple, and only need a few items to create the look. So, I landed on a golden shadow from the Sonia Kashuk Bronze Beauty Quad ($13.69) with a cat eye and full lash. Bold but not overdoing it.
First, I applied the top left shadow {golden/sand} from the quad to my lids, and blended. I added a touch of the top right color {bronze} for depth, and blended.
Next, I tried something new and reached for Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining Liquid Eye Liner (it’s only $6.99, steal!) to create the line. It’s surprisingly easy use. The tip is a little harder than I’m used to, so it’s best used swiping towards the inner corner of your eyes as opposed to away.

I finished with a personal favorite, Physician’s Formula Organic Wear in Ultra Black ($7.59) for a strong, bold lash that pulls it all together. Voila!
