Sarah Jessica Parker's SJP Collection at Nordstrom

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the soon to be famous shoes and sit down with the amazing Sarah Jessica Parker for a few minutes to talk about the line (launching today at Nordstrom).  Sarah Jessica quickly went on to tell me about the inspiration behind the line and her hopes to bring back the "simple sexy shoe". Drawing inspiration from the late 70's designers like Charles Jourdan, Ferragamo and Maud Frizon (in which she named the "Maud" after), SJP revealed it was "all about a simple single soled shoe" made in Italy. Adding lots of color and details to the timeless shapes, as any Carrie Bradshaw fan would've expected. From the grosgrain ribbon intricately detailed on the back of each shoe to the nod to Ms. Bradshaw herself with a flower topped heel, her collection is everything this shoe lover could every imagine. I have a feel we're going to be wearing these classically designed shoes for years to come.
And though she couldn't quite pick a favorite, she expressed extreme fondness for the Purple Carrie (I think it's my favorite!), the Asparagus Anna and of course, the Maud, which Sarah Jessica refers to as "a neutral" and it absolutely is, we know this. With a wide variety of heel heights and prices ranging from $195 to under $500, I have a feeling this collection might just sell out. And if you're not into shoes she has beautifully crafted handbags pricing up to $375, as well as a classically constructed trench coat that reminds me of the one her Gap commercial back in 2005.
All in all, Sarah Jessica's collection sings affectionately to my inner Carrie Bradshaw. But I wouldn't of expected anything less, especially with George Malkemus (Manolo Blahnik) as her business partner, who is also a sweetheart and just as passionate about the collection as SJP.
Since they hit Nordstrom.com and select stores today, I have to know who's running out for their very own pair? Also, if you're in the NYC area, Sarah Jessica will be making appearances at the Nordstrom Pop Up Shop all weekend! (Details here)
