3 Winter Beauty Essentials To Try This Season

With winter just around the corner I’ve found myself on the hunt for beauty products that are going to help me, my skin, and my hair through the coming months. One of my biggest problems when it becomes full-on layers-and-jacket weather is keeping moisturized. My hair goes flat and tends to get a little dry while my skin immediately goes into dehydration and flaky mode. I’m sure most of you feel my pain or at least have been there, especially if you’re anywhere north of Florida. So this month as I’m teaming up with Redbook to check out some beauty essentials in their Red Beauty Box. Turns out they had my winter woes in mind when it came to the products in the box. Hello, SkinFix Hand Repair Cream, Dove Dry Oil Body Wash, and Ogx Bamboo Root Boost Spray.
Naturally, I put them straight to the test, you know, with winter just weeks away I had to get ahead of the game...

SkinFix Hand Repair Cream
This is one of those instances where big things come in small packages. I’m all for this fragrance, paraben, soy, steriod, cruelty and phthalate free repair cream. It’s allergy tested and pH balanced so it’s safe to use on even my overly sensitive skin. The medicinal hand cream is formulated with 1% colloidal oatmeal and natural active ingredients like aloe, shea butter and beeswax. I found that a little bit goes a long way with the ultra rich formula, but it’s not overly greasy. The 3oz. packaging is small enough for purse storage and on-the-go applications. *Clinically proven to treat dry, cracked skin and eczema.

Dove Dry Oil Moisture Nourishing Body Wash
If you love oil-infused products, you’re going to LOVE this Moroccan Argan Oil body wash. It’s not overly greasy, doesn’t leave a thick film on your skin after rinsing, and doesn’t strip your skin like other cleansers tend to do. The dry oil moisture nourishing body wash is a specially designed formula with a blend of Moroccan Argan Oil beads leaving dry skin softer and smoother in just one wash. I immediately noticed the difference and have a feeling this will become an everyday winter requirement. The formula is super mild, using Sodium Lauroyl Glycinate for cleansing, NutriumMoisture technology for lipid and protein protection, as well as stearic acid for nourishing the skin.

As soon as temperatures drop below 50 degrees my hair immediately goes flat and my natural curls disappear. Hot styling tools help but when your hair is already fighting the dryness from the elements, heat is not ideal. If you’ve never used Bamboo products on your hair you’re in for a treat. A big, texas hair treat. It’s best used on damp hair before blowing your hair out but can also be used on dry hair throughout the day for touchups. A little bit goes a long way, so lightly mist directly onto your roots. You can thank the bamboo fibers and soy proteins for your big, fabulous hair this winter.
