Back To School With Kohl's: Basics 3 Ways

06 September 2016

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kohl’s. All opinions are 100% mine.

Last week's Kohls.com Back To School post was more on the feminine side with the floral mini dress and light accessories, making me want to do a complete 180˚ for my second post. This week, I'm borrowing from the boys and adding a little more edge to my casual basics. Basics are key for wardrobes of any season but there are two particular pieces that I CANNOT live without and they are a classic white tee and a black pair of denim.

I did a little shopping around the Junior's department and found this amazing pair of high waisted black jeggings that my closet has been missing for like, ever.  They have just enough stretch making wearing them all day almost too easy. The tee was a no brainer, I'm obsessed with these scoopneck t-shirts. The material is super soft and flattering. Next to both, I found a black and red buffalo plaid top, perfect for layering throughout the season.

With my new finds in two, I wanted to come up with a couple of ways to wear the same exact outfit without having to ditch the three key pieces from the look but still find new ways to mix up. Because let's be real, we don't always have time to change our entire outfit and little tweaks here and there make a world of difference.

The first look was all about keeping it simple, just the tee, denim, and plaid shirt paired with white canvas sneakers and a backpack for heading to class or even to just grab the much needed cup of coffee to start your day.

The second look I ditched the backpack and added an oversized denim jacket for a night hanging out with friends or heading to the movies. It's simple, adds just enough texture to change the look completely.

Finally, for a night out add a leather jacket, crossbody and fabulous pair of heels. Want more pop? Add a swipe of red lipstick.
Which look is your favorite? I'm personally torn between the heels and the denim jacket look...
