Easy Spring Beauty Tutorial

If you've been reading for awhile you are well aware that I am a Burt's Bees fanatic. Naturally, since I religiously use their lip crayon {Sedona Sands for life} and Renewal skincare line. So, when I heard they launched a lipstick AND a BB Cream there was no way I was missing out on trying them both out - i.e.: creating a spring-ready look with these new additions. Of course, I had a little help from EcoTools to create my final look. Which by the way are also kind of amazing, but first I have to give you the run down on the newest Burt's Bees products to hit the natural beauty section at Walmart.
Let's talk the Burt's Bees BB Cream. The short answer: It's amazing. It goes on smooth and has a light finish. The coverage is buildable and a little bit goes a long way, so start light and then build up. I used about a pea-size for the whole look. My only con is it only comes in 3 mineral-rich shades. The light/medium is a perfect fit for me and I have fair skin so I'm not entirely sure how it stretches for the other shades. If your skin tone doesn’t exactly fit with any of the three shades, my suggestion would be mixing them!  Of course, like all Burt's Bees products the formula is sans Parabens, Pthalates, Petrolatum, SLS and never tested on animals, all necessary wins in my book.
As for the Burt's Bees Lipstick, watch out lip crayons, there's a new sheriff in town! And this sheriff has 14 full coverage, satin-finished shades that glide on like a dream. I'm guessing it's the moisturizing properties from the beeswax, moringa oil, and raspberry seed oil. It doesn't flake and keep my lips feeling hydrated all day. Win.

Now, these EcoTools brushes. I'll start off by saying I am PICKY when it comes to brushes, but these have won me over. Don't let the price tag fool you, these are hand crafted and precisely cut bristles that are not only incredibly soft, but also cruelty-free and eco-conscious.

Get The Look:

Dab about a pea-sized amount of BB Cream to your hand or brush and blend thoroughly over your face with a round brush until you've reach your desired coverage -  I used EcoTool Skin Perfection Brush #1209 to apply - the straight and dense bristles are specifically designed to smoothly and evenly apply the Burt’s Bees BB Cream, and the rounded edge of the brush is ideal for precise coverage around the eyes and nose.

Next, I added a dab of concealer in the shape of a V under my eyes with the pointed concealer brush and blended. After blending and brightening my eyes, I lightly added some definition under my cheekbone and on my hair line with a cream bronzer.

Since I really wanted to keep the variety of makeup usage minimal I let my lipstick in Fuchsia Flood do double duty and lightly dabbed {with my fingers} my lip color to give my cheeks a soft glow before applying a more opaque version to my lips. *Tip: Always line your lips before applying lipstick, if you don't have a liner use a lip line brush to create a smooth line for application.

For eyes, I kept it simple and stuck to my staple - A light shadow to brighten, applied with the eye shadow brush {from the 6 piece Day-to Night Set} and a crisp, cat lined eye. Topped off with a coat of mascara.
Voila, A nearly naked spring beauty look in under 15 minutes.
