3 Festival Season Style Essentials

With Coachella kicking off this weekend it's time to start thinking about what radical outfits you're going to be wearing during festival season this year, Coachella or not. I personally want to keep things simple, embracing a few of my favorite trends - whether I'm on the streets of New York City or the sandy desert in California. So, with a little help from Forever21, I snagged 3 festival-savvy pieces that would make excellent style staples for a summer of outdoor concerts, and for well under $40 a piece.

First off, these are amazing for two reasons - 1. They're adjustable to your calf, so slipping down and twisting into in awkward positions isn't going to happen {the struggle was real last year, here}. 2. There's a 2" stacked heel. So you get an extra two inches of height and the added support that you usually wouldn't get with the super flat gladiators. Also, they come in black.

If you don't have a button up a-line skirt yet, let this be your pick. It's suede, the tan hue goes with EVERYTHING and it's ridiculously comfortable {runs true to size, I got a small}. Wear it with cropped or off the shoulder tops and your newly purchased gladiators. Pair it with the added bonus of fringe and/or a scarf and you're ready to go.

If there's one trend that's going to get A LOT of play this season, it's the lace up trend. Everything is laced up right now - shoes, body suits, swimwear, you name it. My pick is this floral lace up mini dress with bell sleeves for a whopping $23! It's light and airy for summer heat and packs that effortless festival style. Throw on with sandals, a floppy hat, and oversized sunglasses.
