In the winter time It's pretty safe to say that my skin takes a pretty good beating. No matter how much water I drink or how many 'moisturizing products' I use I still end up thinking my skin looks a bit dehydrated. Sure, several products help the situation but truth be told the layers of makeup I find myself wearing is part of the problem. So, when bareMinerals launched Complexion Rescue ($29) last month with the promise of 215% more hydration in just one week, I couldn't resist the opportunity to try it. Especially considering last year's {award winning} launch of bareSkin made me a lifetime customer of the brand. I love that stuff.

Well, they did it again...

The new gel cream formula goes combines the best of BB, CC and tinted moisturizer with skin loving humectants and mineral electrolytes to keep your skin happy, regardless of the time of the year. But let's be real, this is the real winter winner. I've been using it for the last few weeks and have felt a pretty significant difference in my skin's texture and appearance. It's definitely not as dry as it usually would be after being outside in our less than favorable temperatures. Plus, I'm all about the weightless 30 SPF.

Application is pretty simple and have found the coverage to be any where from sheer to medium. I use two pea sized applications to get a good medium coverage. I start the application with my fingers and finish with the smoothing brush. I have noticed I do need to use primer before applying for more of a pore less finish, but for me that's to be expected. Other than that it goes on (and photographs) beautifully, much like bareSkin.

Am I sold? Absolutely, I went out and bought another tube over the weekend while stocking up for Fashion Week. So I have a feeling I'll be rotating between Complexion Rescue and bareSkin for a good long while. Watch out beauty brands, bareMinerals is taking over...
Be original. Be natural. Be good
