Leopard Sneakers

As most of you know I'm not one for flats, at all. I'm just a gal about heels. However, when I saw these leopard sneakers a few weeks back at Marshalls, I kind of loved them. Leather and leopard, it was hard to turn down. Since then, it's taken some breaking in (these babies were worse than heels!) but they've become my 'runaround shoes' for those days when I'm feeling just a tad bit sportier than usual. They kind of went perfectly with my stripes, (faux) leather and Foster Grants last week while strolling through Central Park...

Floral Midi

I was over the moon when I first set my eyes on this skirt a few weeks back while browsing Choies, it immediately ended up in my cart and obviously the rest is history. Since then I've worn it at least a dozen times with numerous pairings, this being the first and certainly not the last. I love the bright pops of color and graphics paired with the floaty almost neoprene material, it almost feels like magic. Throw it on with a moto jacket and graphic tee and you're perfectly set for Spring time styling.

Leather and Ladylike

I've been kind of playing around with more ladylike pairings, most recently layering delicate blouses. One of my favorite has to be with this bouclé jacket and these leather(ette) pants with just an extra pop of color.

Spring 2014 Trend Spotting + Caress® Emerald Rush™

You may not know this but floral scents are kind of a weakness of mine, dating all the way back to my pre-teens.  So when Caress® introduced their new Fresh Collection I couldn't resist jumping on the band wagon, especially since the Caress® Emerald Rush™ Fresh Collection Body Wash has notes of Gardenia, my personal favorite. I was pleasantly surprised when the fragrance lingered on long past my shower, in which I skipped the perfume and embraced the Spring-like scent.

So with Springtime and emerald in mind I put together some of my (green inspired) looks spotted on the Spring 2014 runways, last September. From Richard Chai to Mara Hoffman, emerald made tiny impressions adding pop to classic all white ensembles and rich printed maxi dresses. My personal favorite embraced the cropped and high waisted trend, giving just the right color paired with the crisp white trousers and top. I don't know about you but I'm starting to think I need to bring just a touch more green into my life and wardrobe, even if it is in moderation.

Who else is loving Emerald this season?

Scuba Florals

For me nothing brightens up a dreary day or week quite like a floral. Spring or Fall. So last week when I was pouting over the cold snap we were experiencing (snow was involved guys) I reached for this eye catching neoprene skirt and I knew it would snap me out of my polar vortex funk. It did, and it went perfectly with my mini quilted crossbody.

Silver-Screen Style: The Other Woman

If you follow me on any of my social networks you might remember me blowing up your feed Wednesday while having a girls night with Popsugar, equipped with a screening of The Other Woman, goodies and most importantly, Patricia Field, who did the wardrobe for the film. It was kind of amazing.
As for the movie, it's hard for me to decide what I loved more, the girl's on screen chemistry (real talk: the movie was hilarious) or the clothes. Honestly it's both, and I think that's what makes it work so well. Sure, "clothes are pretty but you have to laugh" Pat said after the screening and I couldn't agree more.  And being that I spent a good portion of the movie laughing, I'd say mission accomplished.
Now, let's talk onscreen style.

Patricia made each character's personality speak volumes through their wardrobe, which I wouldn't expect anything less, we are talking about the woman who made SATC what it is..

Kate (Leslie Mann) was an updated Charlotte York donning cheery, colorful hues and prints matching her Connecticut housewife & playful spirit to the t. While Carly (Cameron Diaz), a high powered lawyer, added a touch of edge to her sophisticated ensembles. Leather pencil skirts and Jimmy Choos, yes please. Amber (Kate Upton) was definitely more laid back when it came to her style, and was often in playful sundresses, tees and shorts. Though her in a white bikini is all va-va voom. As for the final style star Lydia (Nicki Minaj), she stole the room every time she walked in with her boldly printed curve hugging ensembles paired effortless with her witty remarks. I'm not going to lie, I kind of love her more now than ever before.

So if you're looking for the perfect girls night out flick with a little style and lot of laughter, head to the theaters April 25th and catch the three gals and their outrageous shenanigans. Xo.

Little White Dress

When Spring hits there's a whole list of essentials to have in your closet, most importantly, the little white dress. It can be paired with sneaks, heels, sandals and layered with just about everything. It's one of the easiest must haves on the list, plus it's more cheery than it's black counterpart. This Lulu's dress is the perfect dress for the job, it's playful and has a little smidge of frill for those days of wearing it sans layers.

stylish overalls
Yep, I took the plunge and got a pair of overalls. I'm probably just as shocked as you are, because let's be real the last thing I wanted to do is recreate was my brother and I in our matching overalls as kids. Though I have a feeling he might be proud right now.

However, I figure when it comes to trends you have to try them at least once as you never know what you're going to love or not love without at least trying it once, right? Plus it was really hard for me to say no when I saw them hanging there for only $25 at Marshall's - so I grabbed them, tried them on and kind of fell in love. I wasn't the only one who loved them, when I showed my husband what I was wearing he quickly said how much he loved them, he was serious, and I was surprised to say the least. But I digress...I immediately knew that my first outfit would have to channel SJP on Ellen because I really loved it, like so much so that I was immediately ok with overalls. So, it felt natural.
