Polka Leopard

It's no secret that I have major feelings for print, leopard and polka dots in particular, so of course why not pair them together.

Muted Pastels

With pastels on mind for Spring, nothing quite seemed more perfect than this muted pink dress with a touch of neutral for this crisp, sunny day. Feminine but not fussy.

Recipe: Gooey Chocolate Pudding Cakes

Sometimes I need to indulge in a rich, chocolatey dessert, what can I say, it's my weakness. So of course, while I was up in the mountains I had to raid my grandmother's magazines for something sweet to eat. And after a flipping through a few I found this amazing recipe in Better Homes and Gardens.

Talk about rich, ooey gooey deliciousness, that everyone loved, and with individual cups for everyone there was just the right amount with no 'hogging'.

Gooey Chocolate Pudding Cakes - Serves 6
1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/4 Cup Sugar
3/4 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/3 Cup Milk
1 Tbsp. Oil
1 Tsp. Vanilla
1/3 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Pieces
1/4 Cup Nutella
1/4 Tsp. Salt

Pudding Topping
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Unsweetened Cocoa
3/4 Cup Boiling Water

Optionals - Vanilla Ice Cream
Strawberries, Whipped Cream, and I sprinkled a capful of Kaluha over the Ice Cream.

Preheat Oven to 350˚F

1. In a medium bowl combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and 1/4 tsp. salt.
2. Add milk, oil and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
3. Stir in Nutella and chocolate pieces.
 4. Divide batter evenly among 6 5-8oz. oven safe ramekins (or bowls). Place on cookie sheet/baking pan and set aside.
 5. In the same bowl stir together 1/2 C Sugar and Cocoa.
6. Gradually stir in boiling water.
7. Pour eveningly over batter in dishes.
8.  Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out smooth (from cake portion).
9. Serve with Ice Cream, Alone or with whatever topping you'd like.

This week...

In Case you were wondering where I was all day yesterday, it turns out as I was scheduling yesterday's 'supposed to be' post before hopping the on the road for 10 hrs. my power cord bit the dust with the computer promptly shutting off leaving me with no power and no publishing. So after getting home at 6 am, we finally got around to getting to Apple store where they replaced both of our cords (seriously, they both failed within weeks of each other) and sent us happily packing...Of course since this all happened in Tampa, I couldn't resist stopping by H&M to see their spring picks, and I can't believe I'm going to say this but I left empty handed...The shame...

And as much as I loved being away and seeing my family, I'm glad to be home...

Her Name is Ying

Yesterday I had the pleasure of finally meeting Ying from My Dressy Ways for lunch in Greenville. Turns out she is everything I thought she would be and so much more.  So of course we spent most of our lunch chatting like old friends, almost forgetting to eat it. It looks like I just turned a blogger pal into a real life friend...

Isn't she amazing? So amazing that she showed me her Smile Detection Method for taking pictures, which was so much fun!
Ps. She's even more gorgeous in person..

I don't know what it is about my love for army green and purple hues but it just works, giving a whole new look to my favorite maxi dress (which I have close to 6 layers under, it's so cold here!)...
