When Summer comes to mind, I think sun, sand, brightly colored dresses and picnics. Followed by a cool summer breeze at night, which calls for ideal coverups like light cashmere sweaters and the 'American classic' denim jackets, not to mention my personal favorite the utility jacket. Whether you're sipping lattes at a popular cafe or cozying up to your honey next to a beach bonfire there's always a place to add some layers.
Layers not only serve as the extra needed warmth, but as another statement piece in your ensemble, try adding a bright boyfriend blazer to top off a simple dress for that extra pop of style. If the heat doesn't allow for wiggle room as far as jackets and cardigans go, opt for a fabulous vest (which you've seen me do, over and over again). Vests are equally as versatile, try a tailored vest belted over a voluminous skirt or one of the knit varieties over a flowing dress for a little bohemian flair.
