Spring Essential: Lace Up Heels

As promised, this week's Payless post is all about lacing up. As you might have already guessed I'm not talking about sneakers but referring to the ghillie-inspired lace up heels trend {this pair is courtesy of the Christian Siriano for Payless line}. It probably comes as no surprise that these were my immediate pick when Payless asked me to share my favorite styles. I mean, I was clearly missing them in my closet, they pair with anything and everything. Also, It doesn't hurt that they are under $40 either. Plus they come in red - I probably need those too, right? I mean, they're BOGO 50% so I might as well.

Like most Payless shoes the "Juliette" ghillie pump is surprisingly comfortable, which is essential when I'm going over footwear options for this time of year {uncomfortable shoes call for uncomfortably high taxi fares, so comfort is key}. As far as styling goes, I kept it retro with this floral, bell-sleeved shift dress. I adore this print and shape and felt like the details matched up and paired together flawlessly. The addition of the skinny scarf didn't hurt. Scarf tip: If you're nervous about jumping on the silk scarf bandwagon this season, I suggest that this be your pick - it's easy and still falls in line with the trend without being too flashy or retro.

Who else is embracing the Ghillie trend? Not loving the heels, check out the flats version they're adorable!

This post has been brought to you by Payless. As always, all opinions are my own.
