The $20 Maxi Dress

Since I've been playing favorites with bohemian, 70's inspired pieces this season I couldn't help but fall in love with this bright, floral maxi dress from H&M. I mean, it's been a minute since I've worn, let alone bought one so I felt like my closet needed one with a little autumn harvest hue. Love the colors. Now, at first glance on the racks I was convinced I was going to be paying upwards of $50 for it but after checking the tag there was no way I wasn't taking this baby home for a whopping $20. I pretty much ran to the dressing room, tried it on and bought it. No regrets. Hopefully I have a few more weeks of wear without piling on the excessive layers. Until then I'm perfectly satisfied with wearing it with all these neutrals.

Trend To Try: High Waisted Flares

At this point in the season it's likely that everyone has brought out their favorite pair of jeans at least once, I know I have. But, I'm taking a break from my trusty skinny jeans and giving these high waisted flares from Fashion Nova a shot. Guys, I kind of love them - aside from them being little long {short girl problems}, I'm pretty obsessed. I can't get over how perfect they were paired with this fitted turtleneck, woven belt and cozy layers. You can't wear flares without going a little retro, am I right?

Who else is into flares?

Holiday Glam in 15 Minutes

This post is sponsored by Target.
I don’t know about you, but when it comes to the holidays, by the time I’m done shopping, cooking, and getting everyone else dressed, I’m pretty much ready to call it a day or at the very least take a nap. Standing in front of the mirror for an hour or more seems like an outlandish task after everything else I have on my plate. However, entertaining or attending a party in sweatpants and a messy bun seems slightly inappropriate.

Which is why I made it a special point to make this week’s Target Beauty post about putting together a glam holiday look without all the crazy effort. Using 4 easy, no fail beauty equations to create the perfect glam look and in under 20 minutes.

Beauty Equations:

Classic Winged Liner
First, I went for a classic winged liner. It’s simple yet always glamourous. Then, a coat or two of mascara and we’re on to the lips. For The Eyes: e.l.f Must Have Eyeliner Set {black liquid liner} & Pixi Large Lash Mascara in Black

The Red Lip
Red lips during the holidays is a must and pairs perfectly with winged eyes. Lips: Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color in Classic Red

The Messy Bun + Glam Headband
Since we’re short on energy and time, I’m putting my hair up in a teased, messy bun with the addition of a touch of sparkle to tie everything together for one glamorous look. Hair: Scunci Jeweled Headband

Classic Red Nails
As for nails, I stuck with holiday-classic red to match up with my lip color. Do your nails last and then walk out the door to minimize smudges and chips.

Voila! Holiday Glam in 15 minutes.

Fall Essential: Tan Over The Knee Boot

I feel like I've been searching for the perfect tan suede over the knee boots for what seems like months now. I know I have a tendency to be picky but it's been tough narrowing down the right boot for the job. Finally, I set my sights on Report's Lipton boot - they're pretty much exactly what I wanted. A little bit rugged, slightly retro and doesn't have a tight fit along my leg.  They were a little pricier than I wanted to spend, at $170 {they're half off in Black and Burgundy at DSW!},  but I'm hoping I 'pay them off' in my costs per wear for the rest of the season into next year and then some.

Also, can we talk about how perfect they look paired with this dress and sweater - Fall heaven.

Aveeno Positively Radiant® Daily Moisturizer with SPF

Now that I’m wrapping up my 20‘s, I’ve invested myself in really preparing my skin for my 30’s and 40’s. I’ve started to target certain areas that need a little extra love {it’s best to get ahead of the game, right?}, such as texture, a little bit of blotchiness and definitely a few emerging brown spots (thanks sun exposure). But truth be told, I’m not always too invested in tedious beauty routines paired with handfuls of different products on my  face - I’m forgetful and I don’t want my entire budget going to the beauty counter.

Wouldn’t just one product be perfect?

Fat chance?

Actually no. It turns out Aveeno has just the the moisturizer. The Positively Radiant® Daily Moisturizer works by improving tone, texture, dullness, blotchiness and brown spots {It’s been clinically proven!}.  It’s super light-weight, goes on smooth and is lightly scented. Plus it comes with broad spectrum SPF 15, win.

I’ve been using it right after washing my face in the morning, before applying my makeup. I even found that it went perfectly with my primer and foundation, which might sound strange but I’ve gone through a handful of moisturizers that make my makeup look muddy and caked-on. So, I’ll take a win wherever I can get it.

Also, it doesn’t hurt that it’s budget friendly and easily accessible. Running low? No problem, I just walk down to Rite Aid or Duane Reade and stock up.

6 Comfy Casual Looks

When I think about cozying up for the holidays my head always goes straight to a comfy jacket, oversized sweater, stretchy jeans {emphasis on stretch!} and a great pair of boots. So, for this week's #styled6ways with my favorite gals we're all about getting comfy casual for the holiday {which by the way, I cannot believe Thanksgiving is next week, where did the time go? I'm not prepared, at all}.

This week Jackie, Jenn, Kacie, Alex, Tiffany & I collaborated with Gray Monroe and Report Signature to include their cozy essentials in our looks. I personally can't get over this camel coat and these perfect knee high black boots, I've pretty much been wearing this pairing all week to run errands. I loved the boots so much I just bought the over the knee camel version, obsessed.

2 Easy Ways To Add Color To Your Beauty Routine

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Target

OK, I’ll be the first to admit that I like to keep things in the neutral department when it comes to my beauty looks. It’s a rare occasion that I take a break from my classic winged eyeliner in favor of something a little more colorful. But, for this month’s Target Beauty post, I’m stepping outside of the box and creating two very colorful Thanksgiving-ready beauty looks.

With holiday gifts on my mind, I opted to take full advantage of the e.l.f. 100-Piece Eye Shadow Palette ($15!) and do the color wheel proud. I’m pretty sure everyone needs this impressive and colorful palette.

For the first look, I opted for layers of purple and pink on my eyes and lips. I started off with these two shadows on the palette and blended, and then added a quick liquid line with Sonia Kashuk Black Noir and finished with Pixi’s Mattelustre Lipstick in Pink Petal and Pixi Large Lash Mascara in Black.

Next, I pulled inspiration from this blue statement necklace with pops of blues paired with the gold hardware. I started off by adding this gold shimmer from the palettes and blending together a couple of blues to create the right deep blue. I then added a little depth with the navy shadow by creating a slight wing to the smoky shadow look, a couple coats of Pixi Large Lash Mascara in Black, a swipe of Pixi’s Mattelustre Lipstick in Honey Bare and voila! Thanksgiving beauty without having to break the bank or spend an hour in front of the mirror.
