Summer Beauty Essential: Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturizer

For me summer is when some of my beauty habits tend to take the back seat to the sun filled days. Sure, it's probably better to skip out on all the makeup and contouring that's likely to melt off the moment you walk out the door, or even add an extra day or two between shampoos. In most cases it's for the best.

One that I'm the most guilty of, is forgetting to moisturize on a daily basis. Let's be real, the last thing you want to do is sit on the end of the bed caking on lotion that's almost guaranteed to feel heavy or sticky immediately following application. It's not my favorite feeling, making it lower on the totem pole of beauty routines in the summer time.

But, we need it.

Which is why I've become pretty partial to Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturizerinfused with micro-droplets of vaseline jelly. Just a quick spray and I'm instantly moisturized sans the sticky, greasy after effects of lotion. It dries immediately so I can throw on my cutoffs or date night look and be on my way. It's great post sun, has a soft aloe scent and fits perfectly in my bags for the on the go re-applications.  Plus with a price tag for well under $10 you're bound to find your self stocking up. Who doesn't want to kick dry skin to the curb? Especially during the summer...

Floral Romper

While I've mostly ceased my summer shopping, I couldn't help but fall in love with this flirty little romper from Chicwish. There's just something about the details and print that made my heart jump.  So, I had to have it. Sure, it's beautiful all on it's own but I kind of love it more paired with the vest...

5 Way To Wear: A Lace Pencil Skirt

As it would turn out that little lace pencil skirt from my Chicwish set got quite the mileage this past season. From leather to floral it's made more pairings than I thought it ever could. It's become my one of my favorite summer staples with plenty of room to grow as we transition into fall...

So, I'm rounding up my favorite 5 ways to wear my little lace pencil skirt {to kick off the weekend}.

1. With a matching lace top

2. With a classic white tee and pop of color

3. Paired with a cozy sweater and pumps

4. With a touch of leather (and edge)

5. Dressed down with denim

Off The Shoulder Maxi

As you can see I've grown quite fond of the off the shoulder trend and for me this dress takes the cake. I accidentally stumbled upon it while searching for shoes on Zappos and had to have it. It's a little bit of a splurge on my end but I haven't been able to stop wearing it. It's beautiful and I don't even think the pictures do it the justice it deserves. But I will say, adding these Silpada earrings doesn't hurt...

Get The Look: Adidas Superstar Sneakers

It all comes back. We got overalls again {I know you're still reeling from excitement}, crop tops, and now the classic sneaker that on every one's wish list circa middle school, adidas superstar sneakers. Sneakers that quite frankly could stand up my Sam and Libby platforms and kick their ass into 2000.

Ok, I was never lucky enough to own an actual pair because the budget of a 12 year old only warranted an off brand replica. Sure, it had four stripes instead of the coveted three but it got the job done and I felt just as cool walking down the halls as I would have if it had three. Or, at least that's what I told myself.

Regardless, they're back and are taking street style by storm. Not feeling the price tag? This H&M find under $25 is nearly identical to the Rod Laver Python pair, just without having to spend countless evenings stalking the real deal on ebay, only to pay an ungodly price...

3 Easy Summer Beauty Looks

For me, I tend to stick to a certain beauty routine year round, sure I mix and match with lipsticks and nail polish but for the most part the face stays the same. So, over the last few months I've stepped a bit out of my comfort zone and created a few looks that I've grown to love that are not only easy to do {read: not time consuming} but also don't come near breaking the bank...

Midi + Crop

Well, the temperate summer I thought we were having officially turned into to smoldering over the weekend. After yesterday's almost 95 degree weather I was thrilled to walk through our door to find sweet {air conditioning} relief. We actually rarely run it but this instance called for the switch of the dial.

Thankfully I wasn't too bad off with my clothing choices. A cropped halter top and midi skirt almost always does the trick on the less than favorable summer days. Who am I kidding it's pretty much always a good idea (regardless of what O Magazine says...).

For The Home: Lucy Sui

One thing you may not know about me is that I love collecting coffee mugs. In most cases I buy quirky, very random mugs for my husband for laughs and he totally loves it. But for me, I love pretty, mood brightening mugs that perk up my morning paired with my favorite coffee. Because when Monday rolls around the last thing I want to do is roll out of bed and park it in front of the computer, so pretty drinkware helps...

Enter Lucy Sui's drinkware. Bright, printed mugs with just a touch of added inspiration etched in gold. Use them to get a head start on your morning routine or gift them to someone you adore, or both. My favorite is the "Joyful" mug, who doesn't love gold polka dots!? Not in the market for drinkware? They have awesome gallery wall worthy prints for, wait for it, $8.00! I want them all...

Added perk: Lucy Sui was kind enough to offer 15% off to all TfDiaries reader with promo code "TfDiaries" until 7/31... {Free Shipping on All Order $99+}

Denim Jumper

I'm not a huge jumper gal but when I saw this one I knew I could make it work, little did I know I'd totally fall in love with it and refuse to take it off. It's the perfect summer time piece, wear it with sneakers or heels; stripes or a crop top. It's almost like I'm channeling my inner child circa 1992....

....and I'm ok with that.

What To Wear To An Outdoor Concert

During the summer I try to spend a good chunk of my evenings at outdoors events, from movies in the park to festivals on the water. There’s just something magical about being in the city as the sun goes down, the heat starts to fade and the sky begins to light up.

So, when Wild Turkey American Honey invited a handful of us to their VIP lounge last week to watch the Hudson RiverRocks concert from their tents, I wasn’t going to pass it up. The chance to sip on Wild Turkey American Honey infused lemonades from custom mason jars while listening to live music? You bet! There was no missing the gorgeous sunset from the pier and we listened to several bands play through the night- even through a torrential downpour. We snapped selfies at the American Honey tent, tried our hand at a life-sized jenga game, and played catch up with friends.  It was a blast, all the way down to running through the rain with makeshift ponchos with Jen and Nadia. Note: umbrellas are functional accessories - it helps to check the weather...

But you can’t accessorize perfectly without the perfect outfit, right? In this case I opted for a touch of bohemia in my floral maxi dress paired with a little fringe. The perfect style for standing on the sidelines, sipping a crisp, bourbon whiskey cocktail, courtesy of Wild Turkey American Honey, as the sun goes down...
