Fabulous Freebie - Fabulous K's "Leopard is a Neutral" Desktop

You and I both know I have a fondness for leopard and have on numerous occasions professed my undying love along with insisting this amazing animal print is a neutral. So, after seeing this amazing print by Fabulous K while doing a little pinning this afternoon I knew it was too fabulous not to share, Am I right?
You can download it here.

Thanks Fabulous K for the Weekend Inspo!

Leather on Leather

I've never been huge on leather + leather styles, for me pairing a black leather skirt and a black leather jacket seemed clashy. However, when I threw these two together by accident I immediately loved the contrast and couldn't resist wearing it more than once. Who said black and brown wasn't stylish?

Psst...Love the look from this post earlier this week? Go vote for it or find another favorite to be entered to win a trip to NYC with an influencer of your choice and a trip to the Abercrombie Flagship store...Hurry, the contest ends 12/15! Xo.

What's In Stores - Nordstrom Rack

I've been a huge fan of Nordstrom Rack since my mother in law introduced me several years ago, it was kind of love at first site. I was lucky enough to get one in Orlando just before we left, but have felt like I've been missing out since, especially on  my favorite designer steals (their clearance is my all time favorite). Lucky for me, A little over a week ago they opened a store just miles from my house in Sarasota! Of course I was so excited that it was one of the first stops upon my arrival home, shameless I know. But since Nordstrom personally invited me, I felt it was pressing, who am I to turn down the Rack and shopping?  Pssh..

I got to the store, b-lined it to the shoes where I immediately started trying on boots (black of course, I have a serious problem, I know...) and a couple pairs of holiday perfect heels. The glitter and leopard caught my affection, so of course added to my cart they were..
Next up, accessories! I stumbled upon this ridiculously adorable and (Megan) perfect, shoe cell phone holder (My phone is actually sitting on it as we speak). I couldn't get over the selection of cell phone cases, scarves and sunglasses - which are perfect for gift giving. I had to walk away from the purses because the longer I stood there the more convinced I was that I needed ANOTHER purse.
Finally clothes, clearance rack first, of course. Plenty of layers for Fall (and Winter) including adorable oversized knits, faux furs, flirty skirts and leather details. I found a sweater I loved and bought it in three colors, am I the only one?

Now, if you haven't heard about the mobile check out spots in the store, this is probably going to be my favorite secret to share. Find a team member on the floor, and ask them to check you out, and they'll do it right then and there. I almost feel like it's cheating on the check out lines because here I was checking out while a huge line was building in the front. I felt bad, but not that bad.

Have you been to Nordstrom Rack lately? What's your favorite find from the Rack?

Trend Report - Colored Faux Fur

For me Faux Fur is a Fall and Winter essential. It's warm, easily layered and let's be real, it's probably one of the most stylish winter pieces we have hanging in our closet. Now, it's taken me awhile to get on the faux fur bandwagon, but once I got on I'm probably never getting off (I'm thinking a huge leopard coat paired with outrageously large round sunglasses in my 80's, who's with me?)

While I'm all about my neutrals, rich hued colors (think purples, blues and reds) infused into my favorite fur accessories are catching my eye for layering essentials this season. After all, we need a pop of color in our lives. Of course after snagging this amethyst snood, I couldn't wait to throw it over my leather jacket and pair it with my new booties for a cozy yet luxe take on my typical casual fall style. And since I'm not ashamed, I'll admit that I got it in burgundy too.

Now, if that didn't get you in the mood to try it for yourself, here's some incentive... For the next 5 weeks, Kotex and I are challenging you to try and flaunt a new trend to be entered to win some pretty amazing prizes (to get all the details and to enter, see below, we're talking a shopping trip to NYC ladies!).

Abercrombie Plaid

When it comes to plaid, Abercrombie has never let me down (they really do have the hottest styles). There's something about their no fuss, cozy, perfectly fit flannels that always get me in the mood for cooler weather. Now, while I feel like I'm taking a blast from the past, all the way back to the trendy days of high school when everyone wore Abercrombie and Fitch (especially my high school crushes, le sigh..), I gave my newest plaid addition an update with a frilly skirt and a pop of leopard. It's just the right amount of laid back with a touch of feminine. I also snagged this easy graphic tee (on sale!), and this jacket but haven't had a chance to get them styled since it's apparently summer here in Florida. I officially miss the mountains, layers and Fall...

Now, with Black Friday just around the corner, A&F is gearing up to offer some amazing deals kicking off at 8 pm on Thursday, November 28th in-store and online. Don't forget to snag something fabulous for yourself while you're checking everyone else off your list, we all need a little holiday shopping perk every now and then, am I right?

Modern Florals

Disclosure: This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and People StyleWatch and InStyle magazines but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PeopleInStyle http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

For me, I'm always looking to be inspired. It doesn't matter if it's from a non conventional source or flipping through the pages of a magazine, it always seems to give me that little boost when I'm in a rut. So when I was starting to grow tired of my suitcase selection I decided it was time to hit the racks, magazine racks, that is. I grabbed a People Style Watch and InStyle (which happen to be on sale starting the 29th week and running until 12/7 at Target, you get a $5 gift card when you buy both, as if you need another reason to go to Target...) and thumbed through for the afternoon.
After getting inspired by the gift guides, home decor and beauty looks, I spotted Modern Florals in Trends That Came Alive (in InStyle) and I couldn't resist recreating just in time for fall, after all I had the dress sitting right there in my suitcase. Feminine with a touch of edge....

Metallics & Boucle

For me Metallic and Boucle always go hand in hand so when I spied this jacket on the Spiegel website, it was hard for me to turn it down. After all, who really can say no to a ruffled hemmed, chain trimmed boucle jacket? It fit perfectly with my newest additions, this amazing structured bag, cropped sweater and leather skirt.  I clearly had to finish it off with my tights and gold studded booties...

Holiday Hosting Essentials

With the Holidays just around the corner, most of us are already thinking about the fabulous parties, from intimate gatherings to social events of the season we're all starting to plan menus, stock up on goodies and grabbing a few essentials to perfect the setting. When it comes to hosting there's just a few essentials that are needed to put together the right amount of style to a space.

First up, seating is key, standing can only go so far when it comes to entertaining. So grabbing a convertible piece of furniture that can be used for the party and for living space is the best place to start. Ottoman's are my favorite option, they can be used as a seat or even a table, and in most cases don't break the bank like other pieces of furniture do. I'm especially loving the shape and style of this one from Havertys. Next up, lighting in the form of a chic floor lamp to add a pop of light and soften the ambiance to the room. Mirrors, like this deco mirror is the perfect statement piece and even works great for those quick hair and make up checks. And no home decor is complete without a stylish tray decked out with everyone's favorite coffee table essentials, a great candle, flowers and a couple fabulous books. Style it up with your holiday theme and set it on top of your ottoman for the perfect pop of style. And voila, you're holiday hosting ready. Now just to figure out that menu and to start cooking.

What is your favorite way to prepare your home for the holidays?

Whether you are looking for the perfect couch or an accent piece to tie the whole room together, Havertys has everything you need to prepare your home for guests this holiday season!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Havertys.  The opinions and text are all mine.

Grey Scale

Sometimes going grey is the only way to go, add a pop of leopard with a pinch of color and it's perfect for a gloomy fall day.

Yes To Grapefruit CC Cream

paraben free cc creams
Yes To... products have been part of my household for the last year or so, from cleansing wipes to moisturizers they've found a special place in my beauty routine. So, when I heard about Yes To Grapefruit's  CC Cream, I had to try it out for myself. For me, a good CC cream has a decent coverage and leaves my face feeling refreshed even after it's off.
I swatched the colors, and found the light was more on target as far my match. I applied lightly (about a dime size, ps the pump is awesome) and found that I liked the coverage. It's 'heavier' than my usual BB Cream picks so I don't have to 'layer up'. It was easy to apply, and stayed for the duration of the day. After washing, my face appeared brighter and felt smooth.
Pros: Easy to apply, great coverage, lasting power, paraben free and budget friendly.

Cons: Slightly dark tint (I'm so fair!) & needs more SPF, only SPF 18.

Will I buy again? Yep, already did. $15.99 for a few months supply, leaves no qualms in my book. Plus they're at Target so it's hard not to pick it up when you're on a routine quick stop, along with the rest of the damn store. You know exactly what I'm talking about.
*disclosure these samples were provided without charge, as always my opinions are 100% my own.

High Above The Mountain

It's no secret that I've been drawn to laid back cozy looks during my time here in the mountains. There's just something about nestling up near the fire in an oversized knit sweater (grey version seen here) and minimal accessories that is just doing it for me right now. Three to four pieces, and we're done. This bag however is definitely the show stealer in this case. I don't know about you but it completely reminds me of Andy's (James Holt) bag from The Devil Wears Prada sans the fringe but with the added bonus of converting it into a clutch. Yes, please.
