3 Easy Holiday Hairstyles With Conair

It's no big secret that I LOVE Conair products. Between the Curl Secret and the Diamond Brilliance smoothing paddle brush, we have a pretty good routine down. I honestly didn't think I would need any more tools to work their magic on my hair- it has been a match made in heaven. Well, until Conair introduced me to the Conair 3Q Compact Styler dryer and the Conair 2-in-1 Styler: Game changed. First off, if you're in the market for a new blow dryer that gets the job done without leaving your hair looking 'cooked' I highly recommend the InfinitiPro by Conair #3QDryer. We're talking bombshell blowouts every.single.time. It's easy to hold, combats frizz with the Frizz Defense conditioning ions, and uses a HeatProtect electronic brushless motor to generate up to 70% more air pressure to dry hair fast and at lower temperatures. Conair, my thick hair thanks you! It doesn't hurt that it's compact and easy to store. Also it's bright pink! Check out the 3 heat and 2 speed settings for optimal styling.
Now, let's talk about the InfinitiPro by Conair® 2-in-1 Styler. It's so good! For starters you can just go ahead and get rid of your straightener and curling wands because this does both with just ONE tool. ONE! My overflowing beauty closet is singing its praises as we speak. Insist on keeping your array of styling tools? You still need this, even if it's for taking it on the go. Seriously, game changed. One tool working double time as flat iron and curling iron. It's great for multi-tasking and trying different styles. I'm all  about the stainless steel outer barrel (heats up to 265˚) for my loose messy waves. And the black titanium ceramic-coated plates (heat up to 400˚) for touching up my hard to tame bangs and loose ends. I basically start with the wand for curls and touch up by unclipping the wand and using the straightening plates to finish the look. It's also great for straightening hair in a snap - I'm sold and will be gifting these this holiday season (mom, don't read this!). #Conair2in1Styler

Now that these Conair tools are on your must-have list for the season, I thought I would create a few styles to keep you looking glam without the fuss of spending a ton of time styling your hair.
Loose Messy Waves
Dry hair smooth as need with the Conair 3Q Dryer.

Section off hair and wrap 1" pieces of hair around barrel of Conair 2-in-1 Styler.

Leave for 25 seconds before releasing. Repeat until head is fully curled.

Use the flat iron feature of Conair 2-in-1 Styler to straighten any uneven pieces and ends.
Half Up Retro Style with Braid Detail
Like above, dry hair smooth as needed with the Conair 3Q Dryer and section off hair and wrap 1" pieces of hair around barrel of Conair 2-in-1 Styler.

Leave for 25 seconds before releasing. Repeat until head is fully curled.

Use the flat iron feature of the Conair 2-in-1 Styler to straighten any uneven pieces and ends.
Next, section off the front left side of your hair from the
temples up and pull back to center of hair leaving your bangs and a 1" piece free. Pin and repeat on right side.

Braid the 1" piece and pin to back center with bobby pin.
Messy Tiered Ponytail
This one is great for dirty hair, add some dry shampoo and blow dry smooth with Conair 3Q dryer.

Next, with the wand attachment of the Conair 2-in-1 Styler add some waves throughout your hair. It doesn't have to be perfect because you're putting it up!

Gather your hair as if you're putting it up into a high half pony. Secure with elastic.

Next pull the remaining hair into the above hair and secure with elastic.

Secure the remaining hair from the ponytail into elastics as far as you'd like. (see below)

5 Must-Try Beauty Products For Fall

This post is sponsored by Redbook. All opinions are my own.
For me, I’m constantly on the hunt for new beauty products to try out and share with you guys. Whether it’s skincare, hair essentials or makeup, I try to keep it well-rounded with the up and coming finds out of the beauty-sphere. One of my favorite ways to do so is the Redbook RED Beauty Box. Every-time a box pops in, there’s at least one item that I find myself using religiously and ultimately buying later on down the road. This time around there’s A LOT of winners in the box and I’m pretty excited to share each one with you, because I have a feeling you’re going to be just as into them as I, especially come winter.

First up: give your hair some Va Va Voom with the Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Powder Play Lite Soft Volumizing and Texturizing Powder. I actually already have this in my beauty cabinet and it.is.good.stuff. If you have thin to fine hair that refuses to volumize, this product hooks you up. You just pump on dry hair at the root and/or throughout your hair (a little bit goes a long way, so apply sparingly) and voila! Instant volume. This is also pretty excellent for the ladies who hate teasing their hair, it basically does it for you. Also, it’s talc-free and great for darker shades of hair, it blends great with my bright red.

Next, MEGRHYTHM: Gentle Steam Eye Mask. Holy moly, I didn’t know I needed this on the regular until I tried it. Basically it’s a one-time use, self-heating eye mask. It’s basically a spa treatment for your eyes in a box for whenever and wherever. Pop a mask in your purse for travel or next to you bed after a long day at work or chasing around kids. Each box comes with 7 eye masks and is available in 3 soothing scents: Lavender, Citrus and Unscented. Grab them on Amazon.

Of course, we need some serious moisturizing as the temperatures begin to drop so this Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer is going to come in handy over the next couple of months. This brand was actually my grandmother’s favorite so I’m a certified O.G. longtime fan. One of my favorite things is that it’s fragrance free AND can be applied before drying off post-shower (it’s water activated!). It’s also grease-free and instantly leaves skin feeling hydrated. Additional perks: It’s dermatologist tested and received the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance™.

If you love Charcoal skincare this Mary Kay Clear Proof® Deep Cleansing Charcoal Mask is for you, especially if you get a pimple here and there. Formulated with active charcoal, mineral clay ingredients, kaolin and bentonite to boost the masks absorb-abilities to POW kick out the pore-clogging impurities. The mask also contains honeysuckle and navy bean extract to help target the appearance of skin discoloration. My favorite part is the rosemary and peppermint extracts for the spa-like scent and cooling sensation. Grab it at Marykay.com

Last, but certainly not least is the Finishing Touch: Finishing Touch Flawless facial hair remover. If you have any unwanted or unforeseen hairs on your face, this is the product for you. It’s super gentle on sensitive skin and promises no bumps, redness or irritation. Plus it has a built in light to help you locate those fine hairs. They thought of everything!

Ok, what do you think? What are you adding to your must-have list for the season?

10 Must-Try Beauty Products under $50

For me, I'm always looking for beauty products to add to my collection. Whether it's something for the hair, something to fight off the UV rays or simply a pop of color - I'm always on the hunt for the next addition to my beauty closet. So after trying a few dozen beauty products over the last couple of months I've narrowed down my picks to 10 beauty products that I highly recommend you try...

First off, I narrowed it down to a little something for everyone and everything, also making sure that they're somewhat budget friendly clocking in at under $50. The Garnier mask is a whopping $3.99! Score.

Check them out...

You have your dry shampoo, now it's time to moisturize your ends with Aveda's Dry Conditioner. If you're constantly using dry shampoo and/or products this is an essential for detangling and softening your hair. I suggest using it with the Aveda Shampure™ Dry Shampoo.

Makeup lover? Primer is key and I am loving the way this matte primer goes one, fills in my pores and stays all day. It's almost like magic in the bottle...

Tinted moisturizer, SPF and a skin energy boost? YEP. This is the perfect light-weight moisturizer with just a tint of sheer coverage and a broad spectrum SPF 40. All day everyday please.

Butter London Pantone in Bodacious, $10
I never thought I'd see the day where I would find a color to replace my beloved OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender but it seems that day may have come. This color is doing it for me and has chip-free staying power. I went 6+ days with the perfect mani ;)

bliss That's Incredible-'Peel'! Spa-Strength Glycolic Resurfacing Pads, $29.40 (On Sale!)
Every.single.night.before.bed. I am all about these glycolic pads, I've been using these for a few months now and I can easily say these are my favorite glycolic pads to date. It's a spa treatment in a tiny little packet.

Kérastase Reflection Chroma Captive Hair Masque, $19.99
My color treated hair needs some extra TLC during the summer and I do masque treatments 1-2 times a week. I've been using this one on repeat for a added shine and hydration.

Bioré Limited Edition Deep Cleansing Strips, $5.99
Because cleaning your pores should be cute.

Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Soap Facial Cleanser, $20
This is a new one and I've only used it a few times but I liked it so much I put my other cleansers on the back burner so I could give this my full attention. I love the mousse texture, I definitely felt like I was channeling Mrs. Doubtfire in the pie scene with application but my skin felt soft and clean after washing it away.

Garnier SKINACTIVE® Moisture Bomb™Sheet Mask, $3.99
Sheet masks these days are a must when winding down for the day and I can't resist the accessibility of these Garnier Moisture Bomb masks. They come in a variety of types but I'm currently loving this Lavender super-hydrating mask. For $3.99 you can stock up and buy a month's worth ;)

Beachy Waves with the NEW Conair Curl Secret 2.0

My summer beauty routines are all about getting things done with the least amount of effort and heat. Especially when it comes to hair. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that the last thing anyone wants to do when it's 90˚degrees out is pull out the blow dryer and sit under it for 30 minutes. Hard pass. So air drying it is. But I will admit my waves don't always dry evenly, so I DO need a little help with styling tools (thankfully their heat emission is a fraction of blow dryers so I can walk away without sweating a big ol' puddles worth). I usually grab a styling wand but it's been proven that I sometimes can't manage it without burning myself. (Note the nickel size scar on my right wrist for proof of wand vs. Megan take 100.) Anyhow, I'm always looking for something a little more user-friendly to get the beachy wave look without the hassle (or the 2nd degree burns).

If you've been reading along for a while you might remember me teaming up with Conair to try their Curl Secret last September. After finally getting into a rhythm with it, I found it was way easier than using a curling wand, and I got some seriously fun bouncy curls. Well, Conair just launched the NEW Curl Secret 2.0 in-stores nationwide now for just under $100. Now you have the choice of a tighter bouncy curl or a beachy wave with the interchangeable titanium ceramic chambers in 1" and 1 1/4" sizes. I feel like at this point there's no need for a surplus of curling wands because this styling tool basically does-it-all. The curl chamber gently draws hair in and holds it while it's heated from all directions. *Hair should be without tension in the chamber, if it feels tight remove hair immediately and start over.

The Conair Curl Secret 2.0 features 2 heat levels, 6 timer settings and allows you to choose the direction of your curl with right, left and alternating curl direction settings. It doesn't hurt that it heats up in 30 seconds and maintains constant temperature. It also has an auto shut-off after 60 minutes and a sleep mode to lower the temperature after 20 minutes of idle time.
The before:
(Truth: I braved the heat of the blow dryer and definitely tripped the breaker to make sure it was straight and smooth for a dramatic before and after photo.)
The After:
Tips for using Conair Curl Secret 2.0:
Make sure you don't let any flyaways into the barrel, or your hair may get tangled in the styler. It took me 4-5 times of my hair getting tangled to narrow it down to random fly aways getting drawn in with the hair piece I was trying to curl. If you take too much hair, or your hair is not going through the center of the appliance, the Curl Secret 2.0 will stop and beep to indicate a problem. So, take the extra step to make sure it's just a smooth piece of hair going in, you'll thank me later.

The smaller the piece of hair, the better the curl. Work with 1/2" - 1" sections of hair.

You should be working with clean, dry and tangle free hair. Yes, it has a tangle safety feature, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. No one wants to have to gently work their hair out of the curl chamber.

Don't let the learning curve throw you off. It takes some practice to get the hang of it and once you do it's way easier and quicker than using a wand.

The Curl Secret 2.0 is now available in stores nationwide and online for $99.99. Find out where to buy and more info athttps://www.Conair.com/co/101/where-to-buy/168.

3 Summer Hairstyles To Try This Weekend

This post is sponsored by Sexy Hair.
It’s officially summer which means it’s time to take measures to protect your hair from the heat. I’m not sure about you but the second humidity and/or higher temperatures hit my tresses, the waves fall flat and frizzy. All that effort spent with the curling wand goes down the tubes the second I walk out the door. I know I can’t be the only one with this struggle, right?

Well, this season I’m taking special measures with the help of Sexy Hair’s Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play volumizing hairspray. Gimme all the volume with a good, firm hold! Waves and curls, stay in place. Just spray into your finished (dry) style and boom, a super firm hold with an added boost of volume while keeping your hair manageable. It dries super fast and adds a little extra shine to your do’ while fighting the dreaded UV rays (my red hair thanks you).

Because, summer hair essentials go hand-in-hand with summer styles, I put together three that will take you from Friday to Sunday without fuss. I’m personally living in the loose, messy side braid but I have a feeling the braided headband is going to become an essential for date night outings. Cute, right?

Check them out and try them for yourself with Sexy Hair’s Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play hairspray

Half Up Twisted Hair with Braided Crown
fullsizeoutput_28e6.jpeg
1. Brush out hair and curl hair as usual. I used a 1 ½” barrel to achieve these waves. Lightly spritz with Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play.

2. Next, part hair down the middle and pull two large pieces (one from each side) from the crown of your head. Pull out a small ½” piece out from each side. Twist the remaining hair, pinning to the back.

3. With the ½” piece, create a small braid and gently pull the pieces away to create a loose, larger braid. Repeat on other side.

4. Pull across your crown and pin under your twists.

5. Finish with Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play.

Loose Side Braid
fullsizeoutput_28e2.jpeg
  1. With a 1 ½” curling wand create loose waves around your head.

2. Start from behind your right ear and carefully pull 3 pieces to start your braid to across the back of your head over to your left side. Secure with elastic.

3. Pull loose pieces out and touch up with curling wand. Finish with Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play.

fullsizeoutput_28e4.jpeg

Mini Buns
fullsizeoutput_28d6.jpeg
  1. Part your hair down the middle from front to back. Pin one side out of the way.

2. From the top of your hair pull hair up to a high pony (parallel to your ears).

3. Twist into a bun and pin. Repeat.

4. Loosely pull at the bun pieces to add volume. Finish with Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play.
