What I'm Loving: Acer Iconia

I first mentioned this newest tech addition here, but since then I've kind of fallen in love all the more. Like I said before the Intel Acer Iconia runs on the android powered system which is refreshing because I'm an avid droid user and love how it runs in tablet form. The Acer is super lightweight and compact, a whopping 7.9'', making it easier to slip it in my bag and take it on the go. Plus it's ridiculously budget friendly at well under $150.
Over the last month, I've spent the most time pinning and checking out what's on newstands, the NextIssue app is amazing guys, you get access to 165 publications for current and past issues (Even this month's Redbook!). Plus they download, so you don't need wifi to read them, making them the best travel essential, ever. The tablet is also equipped with some pretty sweet apps as well as a front to back camera perfect for skyping and taking those (shameless) selfies. And like my phone all my pictures get backed up to Google Picasa so I can write and edit next week's post while I'm on the train or at the park. My only issue is that the battery doesn't stay charged as long as I'd like but that could just be me, I don't always turn it on sleep. Otherwise it's a great buy and I'm even tempted to buy one for the boys to use for traveling and school.
Have you tried the Acer Iconia?

Day To Date Night

For me, I try to get as much wear out of an outfit as possible, so transitioning a look from day to date night is definitely something I look for when getting dressed (because you never know when your husband will surprise you with an impromptu date night, right?). Now, in reality this dress kind of does it all, it's great for day and even better for night with the ladylike details with just a touch of sex appeal. So making the transition to date ready is practically effortless with the addition of a great accessory (I'm always a necklace kind of girl) and a smokey eye or a bold lip.
I obviously started with some pretty basic fundamentals like Maidenform's Shortie Slimmer for piece of mind. Because, let's be real the dress is on a little the short side and flashing just about everyone and their mother while trekking up and down the stairs for the subway is not my idea of a good time. Now, aside from keeping things slim, they're ridiculously comfortable (and surprisingly weightless) so wearing them all day into night is probably the easiest part about this outfit - no change needed. I've been a Maidenform (bra) gal for years so this addition paired with with my Comfort Devotion Multi Way Bra is kind of a match made in heaven.

When evening comes I finish things off by adding a pop of metallic with the necklace and bold lip to push things towards date ready. And, with the addition of a shoe change I'm ready to go. Of course, Summer nights occasionally call for a topper so I grab something to with a little edge, like my leather moto jacket to toughen up my otherwise feminine ensemble.

My Day To Date Night transition tips:

*A Statement Accessory (Earrings or Necklace)

*Makeup Additions: Bold Lip or Smokey Eye

*Ditch the tote for a clutch (or more dressed up bag)

*Lose or gain a layer, toss your cardigan aside and bare your shoulders or throw on something with a tiny bit more edge on cooler nights.

*Great (dare I say, sexy) heels.

What's your favorite way to take your look from Day to Date Night?

Beauty Buys Under $25

When it comes to a good beauty buy it's almost impossible for me to say no, especially when it falls into the budget friendly category. So over the last few weeks I've either added a few fabulous additions to my beauty closet or have been on the prowl for some serious beauty finds that have been a buzz across the web. Personally, I think by now everyone has either heard of or tried Benefit's new liner, so I'm sure you're not surprised that it's on my coveting list, we all know I love a good cat eye. As far as recent additions go, my favorite so far has to be the MD Pro Peel, it's seriously amazing - my husband said my skin was glowing - and he doesn't say stuff like that, often. And then there's Buxom's Full On Lip Polishes, I'm currently using Kimberly (Bubblegum Pink) with everything but I honestly love them all, plus you can look for your name, there's 99!

With that being said, I'm rounding up my favorite beauty buys under $25...

Sweater + Slipdress

Since we've been lucky enough to have a few chillier days this summer I've gotten the chance to throw on a layer on here and there, most recently in the form of this slouchy sweater & slip dress from Markkit. I'm kind of obsessed with the delicate sheer peek-a-boo pieces paired with a little bit of slouch, plus they're perfect for working from home and running out to a quick breakfast.

6 Rompers Under $60

For me, Summer is all about easy pieces - something you can just throw on and still be put together enough to show your face, albeit possibly melting from the heat. So it's obviously no surprise that I tend to reach for one piece wonders (when I'm giving my shorts & blazer combination a break) for such occassions. Let's be real, they're easy and if done right, they're damn stylish. So, I've rounded up a few of my favorite jumpsuits/rompers under $60 to add to your shopping list for the weekend...
Dance Party Romper, $37.99 Necessary Clothing
Amore White Jumpsuit, $54 Markkit.com
Black Jumpsuit, $29.95 H&M
Belted Floral Jumpsuit, $30.99 6ks.com

Throwback Thursday Style: Prints

It's no secret that I fancy prints for just about every occasion, I mean it's practically an everyday occurance. So, this week's obvious choice for Throwback Thursday style had to be targeted towards my favorite Summer prints from the last couple of years here on the blog. Which is your favorite throwback?

Floral Moto Jacket

Here I go again with the short situations, though in my defense I've been meaning to wear this {awesome} French Connection jacket since I got it on super sale a few weeks back while shopping with Gita. So, I mean there's that. Other than that the weather has been too good not to be tempted with Summer layering especially in the form of a short suit, am I right?

Alurent Anti-Aging + Instant Erasure Serum

Granted I'm still in my twenties so I still have a little bit of time before my fine lines start going crazy, though I will say I'm convinced they're rapidly increasing in the crows feet department. I blame my fair skin that has been tarnished by the Florida sun for all these years, along with the added bonus of having children. Either way, I'm always on damage control and on the hunt for something to help out my ‘situation'. Enter Alurent Anti-Aging + Instant Erasure Serum, the new skincare product that tightens skin to visibly lift as it smoothest creases and wrinkles, all in 90 seconds, what?

Turns out Alurent Anti-Aging + Instant Erasure Serum is temporary injection-free alternative that quickly and effectively reduces the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Which in reality sounds kind of awesome if I do say so myself, so obviously I tried it, you know, after first making my husband do it. Reality, it actually works - there were definitely fewer lines, as you can see from my (lovely, you know make up free-ish ) before and after.

Here's another before and after via Alurent...

Now, I will say that it left a little bit of white residue after the 3 minutes but it easily washed off with a little bit of water, so no harm, no foul. My husband said that it felt tight on his skin but I didn't have the same issue, though I would understand that sort of effect from this type of product. Either way, I'm a fan.

For a limited time, use the special shopping code SHOP50 to discount your purchase of new Alurent Anti-Aging + Instant Erasure Serum to $50 plus free shipping at http://www.alurent.com/alurent-anti-aging-instant-erasure-serum.html. This is more than a $30 savings!

Summer Shorts

For me I consider myself a shorts gal, I love the ease of throwing on a pair of shorts whether they're cutoffs or a cute printed high waisted number. So obviously since Spring has sprung I've been stocking up on my fair share of shorts including this pretty pair. They're breezy but are a step or two above casual, making them part of my ideal Summer uniform. Ps - did I mention the shorts are a total steal at $14?

This Week..

I feel like it's been one of those weeks that I just couldn't wait for it to end. Thankfully I've had a fair share of things to distract me from the chaos, mostly coming from the kitchen, because baking makes everything better. Well, that and new shoes...

So I whipped up these Oatmeal Chia Chocolate Chip Cookies (recipe tomorrow!) and they were heavenly....
Also, getting to play with these sparkling beauties from Aruna Seth for a couple of days definitely brightened my mood. Who needs bows when you have butterflies?

Shoe Switch-up

I've found myself wearing these combinations more often than not in the last couple of weeks, sometimes just a switch of the shoe makes all the difference...
