Like Feathers From A Tree

30 June 2011

Whoever said you can't climb trees in heels clearly hasn't 1.) done it in wedges and 2.) met me. So alas my loves it can be done and yes I am as crazy as I look.

But on another note, who's loving this new maxi I picked up at Nordstroms yesterday for $20? Another maxi dress, groundbreaking.

The Inkblot Test

29 June 2011

After last weeks debut of my new found love for 'draped chiffon' cardigans my mother in law went on a mission to find me the same ones in different prints, fulfilling my need to buy them in bulk. How did I get so lucky on MIL front? Anyhow, she happened to find 2 more for my collection and made me a happy camper. I will refer to this particular one as the inkblot test, though it's technically floral...or is it? You tell me...

Tied Up

28 June 2011

How I Wore It: ShopBelina's 'Tayler' Bracelet ($25)
With the current craze for tying shirts up, you know I had to jump on that bandwagon with no other than a maxi ensemble. (Ah, you know me so well, so well that when I google certain 'maxi dress' terms my picture comes up first, true story.) To complete my perfect pairings I added a fabulous gold braided bracelet from ShopBelina. The 'Tayler', which happens to be reversible with turquoise leather/gold on the other side makes it easy to wear it over and over again with it's endless pairing capabilities, and with it's magnetic closure it gives you quick change freedom so you don't have to sit forever fiddling with clasps. Love!

When I walked into meet my mom she said I reminded her of when she was a teenager, I guess that means the 70's trend is working.

Also, you may have noticed my dress is now a skirt, what do you think?

Windswept

27 June 2011

Don't get me wrong I love a good breeze, the cool wind blowing through your hair while giving you a quick tease from the summer heat. It's refreshing, my only issue with said 'breezes' are on mini skirt days. Enough said.

With A Touch of Rawr

24 June 2011

Creativity has always been easy for me, whether it was art and design as a kid or dressing myself now - It just comes naturally and I love it. But every now and then we all get in a rut and feel like we have nothing to wear, and don't lie I see posts about it at least once a week from you ladies! And since I'm still between my maternity wear and my 'tinier' goodies it's put me in a little more of a rut because well not everything fits just yet, and since I'm not superwoman it may take a minute or two. Pssh.

But what I have learned in this predicament is that layering is key. Worn that dress before? Throw a jacket or tunic over it, or heck throw both on and voila! A new outfit ;)

Just Add A Scarf

22 June 2011

After getting ready I stepped outside and witnessed a nice cool breeze, which is extremely unusual for Florida this time of year - we're talking 100 degree weather. So the 'layerer' in me ran back inside and grabbed a scarf to throw on, voila! the perfect topper for my 'cake'.

Navy Loves Grey

One of my favorite color combinations happens to be blue and grey (last seen here), it's colorful yet subtle enough to wear day and night. I might even go as far compare it's contrast to white and black...

I'm especially loving this dress paired with this chic scarf belt. And as it turns out I guess, I do need a grey bag in my life, I was second guessing my purchase until this outfit came about ;).
