Since our weekly picnics in the park have become quite the tradition it seemed only appropriate to snap my pictures in the adjoining rose garden. And since it's Florida ( and can't decide if it wants to be fall or summer) the roses are still blooming beautifully. Pairing my rose red dress with a belted sweater vest and leather boots, for a colorful yet muted ensemble.

For those of you who missed those coveted pieces from designers like Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Tucker, Rodarte and Erin Fetherson here's your second chance to snag their iconic designs from Target. Target is re-releasing 34 exclusive designs from 17 previously featured dresses. While the new styles have yet to be revealed, leaving you to lust over the pieces you're still kicking yourself for not snagging like the Zac Posen Gown, The Rodarte Crepe Dress or anything from Proenza Schouler until spring. The collection is set to be (re)released on March 13th 2011 in stores and on Target.com. See you at Target this Spring! What are you lusting after?
Whether you're channeling a lumberjack or more of a school girl chic look, you're bound to be a hit with plaid this season. With choices from wool minis, tunics, and scarves there's something for everyone - all under $50 of course.
It's a good thing I only spent $7 on this Rodarte for Target skirt, because I think I've only worn it 3 times. It's a hard skirt to pair, or perhaps it the color - or me ;). None the less, I decided to pair it with a print top and a boyfriend blazer for an (ice cream) outing with the boys.

Don't you just love those days where you have to get up at 8 am to make a dr. appointment only to wait an hour for them to see you? I guess I can't complain too much because I got to wear this dress and go to lunch afterwards, which explains why I'm just now posting. I know I've worn this dress a few times already (here, here) but it's hard not to, just the way it flows and the airy comfortable yet elegant feel you get from putting it on. Today I paired it with a cognac belt, olive booties and a few bangles.
Do you have a piece you just love wearing over and over again?

You ever have one of those days where your outfit looks fabulous in the mirror and as soon as a picture is snapped, it looks terrible? That would be today, and the only reason I'm actually posting it is because I looove these booties (and the jacket).

I love kicking off the holiday season with a fabulous designer collaboration. And being that Lanvin is H&M's latest design collaborator (see video here), it takes the excitement to a whole new level. The collection which is due out (in the US) on November 20th, promises high fashion with bold florals, amazing draping and fierce hemlines. (Vogue UK)
Textured and print tights can take a simple (black) dress to the next level, though my dress isn't quite simple it still needs pop from these fabulous argyle tight I got a few years back. I added a skinny belt, and a pop of polka dots to play with the prints. What do you think? Do you love textured tights?

I'm especially a fan of the fall to winter holidays consisting of candy, apple cider, and pumpkin pie. I love kicking off fall with (my birthday, then) Halloween, it's such a fun holiday and I love creating new costumes every year. Like last year I'll be creating 3, and am looking forward to the outcome which should be fun, yet adorable (well on Aiden's end...). All this halloween creativity has brought me to reminisce past costume creations.
Reader Danielle requested a Jimmy Choo Karina Bootie look for less, and after a week of searching we found one for under $20. I'd love to see these with opaque tights or a chic mini dress for a night on the town. What do you gals think, would you wear these?
Months ago when I snagged this Liberty of London for Target (on clearance for $6), I had intentions to actually wear it. But as it turns out it wasn't most flattering of tops, so I altered it. Starting with the sleeves and the ruffled hemline. I thought to add ruffles to the newly v-neck collar but haven't gotten around to it. It's a bit more wearable - and less matronly but I'm still not in love with it. I paired it with high waisted wide leg pants, platform sandals and chained jewelry. What do you think, should I toss it or keep it?

Florida is fickle when it comes to cold weather, one day it's cold(ish) and the next day starts off cool and ends up in the high 80's. Thanks to layers I wasn't completely left in the cold (or heat)... I paired a chunky knit vest with a simple chiffon dress and a brown bow belt around the waist. Finishing with gold accents, a colorful bag and pumps. I think if I were to try this look again I would go with black accessories as opposed to brown.

Shearling is yet another fabulous outerwear trend for fall, whether you're going for the aviator chic look or a sassy sherpa you're bound to look on trend with one of these picks. Here's what I found for under $50.
I adore this bootie, it's the perfect wedge bootie for fall (that also happens to come in black). However with it's $130 price tag it's hard to splurge on such a fabulous item. Lucky for me I found an equally chic identical version from DSW (you made remember seeing it here in black) for under $50. *Still craving the real deal Swirl has them on sale right now for $89, join here and save!
Tights are one of my favorite fall pieces - they're fun, warm and elongating. And of course make the shortest of shorts appropriate for a breezy October afternoon. Today I paired my tights under high waisted black shorts, a ruffled blouse and a belted sweater vest. I happened to snag these fabulous studded booties from Steve Madden (for $20, and are actually inspired by the Gucci Babouska bootie) last year and have been lusting to wear them since it got cooler.
